  • Susan Ritter

    CHAIR

    Growing up in Stony Plain, Susan now calls Parkland County home. After a successful 40-year career in the banking industry, she retired to spend more time with her husband, two children, and two grandchildren. A dedicated volunteer, Susan has been actively involved in numerous community initiatives throughout her life, lending her time and expertise to various causes.

    Since joining the Foundation Board in 2017, Susan has played a key role in supporting its mission, contributing her financial expertise and leadership skills to help guide strategic decisions. Her commitment to philanthropy and community service has been instrumental in driving fundraising efforts, strengthening community partnerships, and ensuring the Foundation’s continued success. With a passion for giving back, Susan remains deeply engaged in making a lasting impact on the lives of those in her community.

  • Ian Havin

    VICE-CHAIR

    Ian’s success as a business owner and community leader makes him a vital asset in his role as Vice Chair of the Westview Health Foundation. His deep-rooted connection to Stony Plain and his hands-on experience supporting local initiatives give him valuable insight into the community’s needs. His ability to build relationships, mobilize support, and drive successful initiatives strengthens the Foundation’s mission, ensuring continued growth and impact. A strong advocate for healthcare, he has demonstrated a strong commitment to fundraising and enhancing healthcare services. Ian and his family proudly contribute to the Westview Health Foundation, originally spearheading the annual Smile Cookie campaign, a campaign that has successfully run in the community for over ten years, helping to provide essential equipment to the hospital. His dedication to community service was recognized in September 2022 when he was honored with the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Medal by the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta—a testament to his lasting impact on the region.

  • Cheryl Budzinkski

    TREASURER

    Cheryl Budzinski brings a wealth of financial expertise and community dedication to the Westview Health Foundation. With a CMA designation earned in 1996 and extensive experience working with businesses of all sizes, she has a strong background in financial management. Her five years in Sysco Edmonton’s finance department, combined with her current home-based bookkeeping and tax business, highlight her analytical skills and commitment to financial stewardship.

    Beyond her professional achievements, Cheryl has been a dedicated volunteer, serving as Treasurer of the Parkland County Library Board for the past decade. Her financial acumen, leadership experience, and passion for community service make her a valuable member of the Foundation, ensuring responsible financial oversight and continued success in supporting local healthcare initiatives

  • James (Jim) Sand

    TRUSTEE

    Jim is a seasoned entrepreneur and business strategist with a proven track record of building and growing successful companies. He approaches every business as if it were his own, ensuring that the right systems, financial structures, and teams are in place to drive sustainable growth.

    For the past five years, Jim has worked closely with First Nations in Treaty 7, 8, and 11, contributing to both Band Operations and Economic Development. His expertise spans business planning, financing, tax strategy, compliance, and financial reporting—skills honed through years of starting, acquiring, and selling companies.

    Beyond business, Jim is deeply community-minded and passionate about advocating for local healthcare access for diverse populations. He is a valued member of the WestView Health Foundation, where he contributes to initiatives that strengthen healthcare services and accessibility within the community. Jim brings a wealth of knowledge and skills that have proven to be vital assets for the Foundation, helping drive its mission forward.

Passionate about driving positive change within our community, his strategic thinking, problem-solving abilities, and commitment to excellence are a valued asset to the Westview Health Foundation.

  • Diane Bertrand

    TRUSTEE

    Diane Bertrand brings a unique blend of business acumen, creativity, and leadership to the Westview Health Foundation. As an assistant to the CEO of RJ Enterprises Inc., she collaborates with a team of financial and operational leaders to help grow and manage 14 diverse companies. Her extensive experience across multiple industries has equipped her with strong problem-solving and organizational skills, making her a valuable asset to the Foundation.

    With a Food Science degree from McGill University, Diane has excelled in food product development and design, working with major brands such as Starbucks, Gordon Foods, and Dairy Queen on R&D, quality control, and packaging design. Her innovative approach was recognized early in her career when she won the Canadian Pasta Manufacturers Association Award for best nutritional recipe.

    Beyond her professional achievements, Diane’s passion for community engagement, creativity, and teamwork makes her an integral part of the Foundation’s mission. Her ability to bring fresh ideas, manage complex projects, and build strong relationships helps drive initiatives that support local healthcare.

  • Joshua Allen

    TRUSTEE

    Josh brings a unique combination of legal expertise, technical background, and deep community connection to the WestView Health Foundation. As a partner at Main Street Law LLP and head of both the Real Estate and Wills & Estates departments, he has spent the past decade serving the same geographic region as the Foundation. His extensive experience in wills and estates has given him firsthand insight into how healthcare impacts families, reinforcing his commitment to improving health outcomes in the community.

    Josh earned his law degree from the University of Alberta after first pursuing a career in Computer Engineering, where he worked with both startups and multinational corporations. He continues to hold a Professional Engineering designation, showcasing his analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.

    His combination of legal expertise, strategic thinking, and community-focused perspective makes him a valuable asset to the Foundation, helping guide initiatives that enhance local healthcare services and support families during critical times.

    Alison grew up in Parkland County and, after spending over a decade working elsewhere, returned to be closer to family. She has now lived in the area for 10 years and is deeply committed to community involvement. Her extensive experience serving on various boards, holding multiple leadership positions, makes her a valuable asset to the Foundation.

    In addition to her work with the Foundation, Alison is currently the Chairperson of her church council, demonstrating her strong leadership and dedication to service. Her professional role in Stony Plain, combined with her volunteer experience, gives her a well-rounded understanding of the community’s needs.

    As the Executive Director of the WestView Health Foundation, Tammy plays a pivotal role in driving community impact by ensuring that healthcare services align with the diverse needs of the region. She is passionate about building relationships, fostering community support, and driving innovation to strengthen health and wellness initiatives.

    Her commitment to advocating for healthcare improvements and collaborating with key stakeholders allows the Foundation to bridge gaps in healthcare funding, ensuring access to essential resources for all.     With over 35 years of dedicated service at the Westview Health Centre, Marilyn has witnessed firsthand the dynamic evolution of healthcare in our community. Her extensive experience has provided her with a profound understanding of the challenges and advancements within the health industry and instilled in her a passion for fostering community well-being. This rich background positions Marilyn as a valuable asset to the Westview Health Foundation, where she is eager to leverage her expertise in cultivating strategic initiatives and nurturing community growth.

    A resident of Stony Plain and its surrounding areas for more than 45 years, Marilyn and her husband have deep-rooted ties to the community she loves. Her long-term association with the area and its vibrant residents has shaped her commitment to ensuring that healthcare services continue to evolve and improve. Marilyn’s enthusiasm for contributing to the foundation is both personal and professional. She is excited by the prospect of being actively involved with community projects that have the potential to make significant, positive impacts.
